I was drawn to Alaska for romance and adventure, only to find an abundance of rusted metal and unbrushed children. Alaska is rough, raw, industrial, and so very beautiful. By painting these machines and their surroundings, I celebrate the juxtaposition of masculine metal and feminine nature — a contrast that expresses what I love most.
